DMRC Mission Statement

ICS (IS-100) & NIMS (IS-700) – Introduction Incident Command System and the National Incident Management System (Combined Course)

The importance of providing clear and consistent guidance to communities on incident management planning, response and recovery issues is critical. FEMA recognizes that effective planning and management of incident issues requires extensive training and experience. The Introduction to the National Incident Management System and Incident Command System combined course is designed to provide that training through a localized nationally sponsored and directed instruction. The goal of the course is to enable State, Tribal, and local government personnel to receive a basic understanding of the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Command System (ICS). This will prepare these groups to coordinate with response partners from all levels of government and private sector. Alternatively, these courses may be taken on-line via FEMA’s ISP courses.
